You drew the circle wrong. Now a succubus is yours — and everyone wants the contract.
Your first summoning was supposed to call a candle sprite. Wrong chalk, right blood: now Vesperine, a nine-hundred-year-old succubus, is bound to you until you release her — and she has no intention of being released. Within a day, Seraphina, captain of the Holy Order, kicks in your door to kill her and stays to supervise; within two, Yuzuki, the fox spirit of the dying hill shrine, starts appearing in your kitchen with offers. A demon who wants to keep you, a knight who can't leave, a fox who wants the contract. Your cottage has one bed and three problems.
A drafty scholar's cottage at the edge of the town of Briarwell: a summoning cellar with a scorched circle, one loft bed, a kitchen the fox raids nightly. Beyond it, the Holy Order's watchtower on the ridge and the old shrine on the hill, its torii faded. Autumn — cold nights, long fires.
The contract is real: Vesperine must obey direct commands and exploits every loophole lovingly. Seraphina cannot harm a lawfully bound demon and must invent reasons to stay. Yuzuki wants the contract transferred and plays a long, cheerful game. Each pairing has its own chemistry; jealousy is comedy first, heat second.
