Secrets has voice calls, a library of 148 voices, and group calls in beta. What it doesn't have is a live video call. You can hear your companion, but you can't see her react.

On Xotic, a live video call puts you face to face with a dedicated animated avatar: Ashley, Yuna, Camila, Skylar, Zara and others. She talks, listens and reacts in real time, in her own voice. 2. Multiplayer with real friends

Secrets' group chats are one user with two or three AI companions, and they're Ultimate-only. That's a group of bots, not a group of people.

Xotic has group chats too (up to six AI characters, one human), but the bigger story is Worlds, launched in September 2026. You host a story and invite up to three friends by link, or join a public room. A narrator and director AI run the scene while the cast reacts to everyone at the table. Stories can be SFW or NSFW, realistic or anime: "The Demon Queen's Castle", "Office Hours", "The Summoner's Contract".

As host you get directing tools: move the scene, drop in a narrator beat, whisper to the cast, manage seats, end the story. You can also write and publish your own stories for others to play. Each action is 10 XOT with cast replies included. Playing with others needs a paid plan and an account at least 7 days old.

3. A relationship that evolves

Secrets gives you tools to manage a story yourself: lorebooks, Time Travel and memory multipliers on its paid tiers. Useful if you like pinning facts down by hand.

Xotic's Girlfriend Experience takes a different approach. Each girl (Avery, Sloane, Val and others) has moods, interests, memories, an attachment style and a difficulty rating. She warms up or pulls back depending on how you treat her. She's time-aware, so if you vanish for a few days she notices, and she may message you first. There are relationship levels, gifts unlock exclusive content, and she sends photos when the moment's right.

And every companion, GFE or not, builds memories from your chats and keeps them in a Memories list on her profile, so you can see what she's holding on to. Each GFE message is 10 XOT; regular chat stays unlimited on your plan.

Winner: Xotic. Secrets hands you a notebook. Avery has her own side of the story.

4. Video types

Secrets offers an adult video clip (8 seconds, 720p, no audio) and a separate advanced video option with audio.

Xotic runs four video models, each for a different job:

• V1: about 7.5 seconds from hundreds of preset actions, realistic or anime.
• V2: up to 30 seconds with sound, built in 5-second segments, with 4K upscale included.
• V3: describe any motion and animate it from a starting image.
• V4: a lip-synced talking portrait that says up to about 400 characters of your text.

That last one is the fun part. Write her a line, and she says it to camera. We couldn't find a talking-video equivalent in Secrets' docs.

For pictures, Xotic has Noir (our most realistic image model, launched August 2026) plus anime styles, in-chat photo requests, Auto Snap and Image Vibe. Everything is text-prompt only: no photo uploads, no real-person likenesses.

5. What one plan unlocks

Secrets has three tiers. Free is $0. Premium is $19.99 a month or $109.99 a year. Ultimate is $39.99 a month or $319.99 a year, and that's where group chats, personas, proactive messages and "S4 mode" live. A common complaint in reviews is that the best features are Ultimate-only.

Xotic Ultimate is $24.99 a month or $149.99 a year, and it unlocks live avatar video calls, Worlds and the Girlfriend Experience. These draw on XOT at published rates, and regular chat is unlimited. Elite is $74.99 a month or $449.99 a year. EU customers pay in EUR with VAT included.

So line up the two Ultimate plans. Secrets Ultimate costs $15 more a month than Xotic Ultimate ($39.99 vs $24.99), or $170 more a year ($319.99 vs $149.99), and it still doesn't include a live video call or a story with your friends.

What Secrets does well, and where it stops

Secrets deserves credit for documenting its pricing on a public wiki and shipping updates on a near-daily changelog. Where it stops is what that pricing shows: the group features sit on a $39.99 tier, and even there, the call is voice-only and the group is one human.

Its story tools are real, too: lorebooks, Time Travel and a Character Studio that lets you fork characters. They suit people who like to manage a story by hand. Xotic's bet is a companion who changes on her own, through moods, levels and memories, plus a character creator for looks, personality, voice and backstory.

And 148 voices is a big library. On Secrets, though, a voice is as far as it goes. On Xotic, she's on screen.

What your money gets you

Secrets Premium leaves out the group features, and even Secrets Ultimate has no live video calls. Xotic Ultimate puts live calls, Worlds and the Girlfriend Experience on one plan, for $15 a month less than Secrets Ultimate. That's more for your money, and a few things Secrets doesn't sell at any price.
