The gaps look familiar, though. Calls are voice only, and group chats (2 to 3 companions, Ultimate only) still hold one human.

What to check before you switch

On a pricing page, most Candy AI alternatives look alike. Here's where they split.

1. Live video, or a clip?

"Live" gets used loosely here. Candy's Live Action and GoLove's Live mode are generated clips: you ask, you wait, you watch. Candy's Live Call, and the calls on OurDream and Secrets AI, are voice only.

A live video call is a face on screen that hears you and answers in real time. That's how Xotic's video call avatars work, and they're built for adult calls.

2. Can you play with friends?

"Group chat" on most adult platforms means you and a handful of bots. That's how SpicyChat, Secrets AI, GoLove and OurDream do it, and we found no group chat on Candy at all.

Worlds is built for people: two to four players in one story, with a narrator and director AI keeping it moving. We couldn't find another adult companion platform that clearly documents NSFW stories with multiple human players.

3. What the free tier really is

Candy's terms say free users get "generally a maximum of 5 messages", which third-party reviews describe as one-time. OurDream charges free users a coin per message, and GoLove's free chat is SFW only.
